TeleVisits and Diabetes & Endocrinology Specialists, Inc.
During this unprecedented time, when health and safety are at the highest concern, we at Diabetes & Endocrinology Specialists, Inc. are offering existing as well as new patients access to Virtual Visits. A Virtual Visit allows you and our physicians to connect remotely either by telephone or through a secure video app from the comfort and safety of your home.
Effective March 23rd 2020, and possibly the next 6 weeks, we will provide the option for all currently scheduled office visits, inclusive of new patient appointments, to be converted to a VIRTUAL VISIT. During the virtual visit, the doctor will be able to renew medications and supply orders, as well as discuss options for obtaining any necessary laboratory testing.
As long as you have an electronic device that has a camera and a microphone such as a smart phone, iPhone, iPad, laptop etc. with internet access you will be able to connect with our physicians over a HIPAA-Compliant virtual platform. For those of you that may not have any of the above, you may connect via a regular telephone.
If you are a patient that does not currently have an appointment scheduled but are interested or in need of an appointment, please call our office at 314-469-6224 x234 to speak with our staff to schedule and provide you with information to access our Telehealth Service.
Medicare as well as other insurance companies have expanded telehealth coverage that enables patients to receive a wider range of healthcare services from doctors without having to travel to a healthcare facility. We will provide necessary documentation to your insurance carrier and submit a claim. For more information regarding insurance coverage and any out of pocket expense, co-insurance, copays etc, please contact your insurance provider directly.
We would like to assure you that caring for our patients remains our top priority. We will continue to follow the most up-to-date COVID-19 guidelines by the CDC and our local and state health departments. We will continue to take all necessary steps to provide care and safety of our patients, staff and physicians during the Covid-19 Pandemic.
We hope everyone remains safe and healthy.
